Celebrate Purim with New Synagogue Project, the event that launched our community three years ago! Purim is a holiday known for raucous festivities, joyous dance, and creative costumes.

This year at NSP, Purim is going virtual with programs for all ages and interests, including:

 - NSP's Radical Purim Party: Upside Down and Around Again (Thur 2/25, 7 - 9:30pm)
 - NSP Co-Sponsored Seudah & Text Study (Fri 2/26, 12 - 1pm)
 - NSP Co-Sponsored Megillah Reading (Thur 2/25, 6:00pm & Fri 2/25, 8:00am)
- NSP's Kids Purim Extravaganza (Sun 2/28, 4 - 4:45pm)

Please register below at least 24 hrs in advance of each event to indicate your interest in attending any of these events.

NSP's Radical Purim Party

NSP's Radical Purim Party: Upside Down and Around Again
Thursday, February 25th, 7:00pm - 9:30pm

Get your topsy turvy on and join us as we turn the night upside down through raucous celebrations, a costume contest, Purim spiel, and more!


Benefitting DC Mutual Aid

Purim is a time to show up for neighbors and recommit to taking care of each other. All proceeds from Radical Purim Party ticket sales will be used to purchase diapers & essential supplies to be distributed through DC Mutual Aid. Mutual is a volunteer-led, decentralized community care group; you can connect with their work through the DC Mutual Aid Network Facebook page.

Sliding Scale
For those who are able, we ask members and non-members alike to support this event by making a sliding scale, tax-deductible donation by purchasing a sliding scale ticket. Please consider your financial access and other positional privileges (i.e. race, class, ethnicity, immigration status, ability, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) when deciding the cost of your ticket(s).

Costume Show
Purim is a holiday notorious for creative costumes. If you need some inspiration for your costume this year feel free to riff on the theme Upside Down and Around Again.

Would you like to submit your or your child's costume to be used in a community collage, video, or slideshow? If so, one of our Purim Planners will reach out with further details.

NSP Kids Purim Extravaganza

Join NSP for a Kids Purim Extravaganza for kids of all ages from 4:00 - 4:45 on Sunday, February 28th. There will be singing & dancing, interactive activities, and a telling of the Purim story. Come in costume and bring a gragger (noisemaker)!

Coloring Sheet
NSP member Naomi Weintraub has created a Purim Coloring & Activities packet so you can start the celebrations early! This packet is meant for kids, adults, and anyone in between who wants to flex their Purim creativity!

Would you like to receive a hard-copy of this packet via mail? If so, you can request that below. Requests for mailed packets must be made no later than Thursday, February 18th.
