The course will take place on Wednesday evenings during December, January, February and one evening in March over zoom. Note that there is no class on December 25 or January 1. The course will be taught by Rabbi Yosef Berman along with 2-3 guest teachers for individual sessions.


This 12-session course is geared towards anyone who wants to learn more or delve more deeply into Jewish practice including those who want to update (or unlearn) their Hebrew School education, interfaith couples, and those returning to or interested in exploring Judaism. Topics include Shabbat, prayer, holidays, life cycle events, all from the perspective of Judaism as a liberatory and spiritual practice. Authors we’ll read include Marge Piercy, Michael Strassfeld, Arthur Waskow, Marcia Falk, Jill Jacobs, Aurora Levins Morales, Art Green and more. There will be assigned readings as well as an experiential component.
